Region Champions!!!!

Thunderettes took Region in Cedar City yesterday. They did awesome, 1st place for Dance, 1st place for Military and 1st place Overall. The above picture they are performing Dance.

The team with their trophies. They were pretty excited. Their Principles took them all out to dinner after the competition and when they were coming home they got a police, ambulance and fire department escort from Circleville to Junction. A great day for the Drill Team.

The girls with their coach and the Overall trophy. It's getting closer to Danielle's last competition which will be on the 31st at UVU. The girls were really happy that their sister, Sami, could be there for this competition and see them do so well. You're awesome, Sami. The competition on the 31st is State so hopefully they will do as well as they did at Region.

Some People's Kids

You would think living in a small town you would feel safe and secure and parents, in the town, would have the time to teach their children good morals. Wishful thinking.

Here's our story........ When it's game night, which one of them was tonight, Courtney leaves for school at 8am and doesn't get home until after 8pm (school, drill/cheer practice, and then Freshman, JV and Varsity games) so, of course, I'm concerned about her getting something to eat between games. I asked her last night if she had money, left over from other games, to get something at the concession stand for dinner. She told me she had plenty (don't know exact amount). Kelly and I usually go but we didn't go tonight. Anyway, Danielle comes home after their Drill Team halftime performance (she is not a cheerleader so she doesn't have to stay and cheer at the game) and informs me that Courtney got her money stolen out of her wallet in the locker room. Yes, for you mothers out there, I AM PISSED. What do you do??? When Courtney got home tonight I asked her about it and she told me that another Drill/Cheer member got her money stolen as well. She said that they reported it to the Principal and there was nothing else they could do. So, needless to say, the little Bathturds got their thrill and will brag about it at school (hopefully when I am subbing their class, hehe). Buy them books, send them to school.....................

Thunderettes Rock !

What a blast. The girls worked really hard and yesterday proved it. The Drill Team Competition in Richfield was really long but worth it. Here are the places they took out of 4 teams in 1A division:
Hip Hop 1st place
Military 2nd place
Dance 1st place
Prop 1st place
Overall team 1st place

Do they rock or what? All the girls had a great time and they stayed focused on their goals.

Courtney and Danielle holding the 1st place Overall Team trophy.

On the 24th they will go to the Drill Team Region Competition at SUU.

Happy New Year !!!!

Lots of fun at the Holt house New Years Eve. I can't remember when we started our family tradition but this is how it is every New Years Eve. We party, kid style. First, we start out with a big spread of food, of course. Hot wings are a must according to Kelly. Then it's game time (my favorite is Scene It Jr.). More food. And of course, at midnight we scream outside like a bunch of banshees. Courtney had her friends, Trisha and Ashton, and they were real party animals. Kaleb and Kyler were with us again this year, can't break traditions. Kaleb made it to midnight and then some, but Cowboy just couldn't keep his eyes open for the big event. It was an all around good time. Happy 2009 to all.

Kyler made me laugh. He's sitting on the potty and I'm sitting on my bed waiting to wipe his butt. This is what he said.

Kyler: Hey Grandma, guess what I'm doing?
Me: Cowboy, what are you doing?
Kyler: I'm sticking my finger in my belly button and touching the food in my belly, how amazing is that!

Never a dull day with that one, huh Sami.
